“I love to paint this life around me- this life that I know so well,
in my own way. These Northern “Wildlands’” are mysterious, soulful, cultural, natural, honest, and deeply valuable-
not only to those of us who live here, but in my heart, to the whole world.
MY ART:
My favorite medium to work in is watercolor. I use acrylic paints for my larger canvas paintings- layering many thin washes- trying to bring the movement of watercolor onto canvas. I also enjoy using charcoal, pastel & wash as a mixed medium on paper.
I combining organic lines and shapes of Nature with Geometric Abstract lines and shapes: juxtaposing "natural, organic lines" of animals and landscapes and people with the “sharp geometric lines” (of rectangles and mathematical man-made edges.)
As I paint, one of my intentions is to try and leave something for
the viewer’s imagination. I am interested in creating a "visual dialogue” between painting and viewer.
