“Ideas taking form”. I imagine many stories and some of them become sculptures and paintings. I attended the University of Washington as an art major and my background and training were in graphic arts. Discovering clay later in life opened me up to 3D possibilities and my creative world exploded.
I am a west coast woman, living in Mendocino County for the past 45 years. My life has been full, happily married, raising a daughter, horses, and an assortment of animals, building a Dive shop business, traveling, and creating art. My work has shown throughout California, New Mexico and I was represented for three consecutive years in SOFA, Chicago. My sculpture has been published in 6 books.
My art is driven by an interest in design and the ornamentation of world cultures. Current work incorporates many mediums, clay, paint, metal, wood, bones, and paper. The process of problem-solving this melding of mediums keeps me interested. It’s about telling a story having the viewer connect to it, though the story may change in translation. Welcome to a small piece of my world.
