My art is conceived with the intention of engaging the viewer in conversations with themselves about their relationship to nature. The viewer may start by asking, what is it made of, or how was it made, but this leads to, what does it represent, and how does that make me feel, which are ultimately much more personal and pertinent questions.
The process of fabricating my art has developed into an all-consuming meditation; all else falls away. This leaves my mind open to new ideas or perspectives, keeping my work alive, and allows for the opportunity to surprise even me. The level of technical difficulty lends an element of tension that adds energy to the work and deepens my meditation.
